One evening in the first week of July Neil received a phone call about an extremely ill infant who had been diagnosed with septicemia and Vulcan Silver was immediately dispatched to the hospital. What happened next is another happy ending, another life saved, and moments like these inspire the Vulcan Silver Team to keep doing what we do.

My sister gave birth to baby boy by way of c section. Baby
was delivered at around 10 o clock 26
June 2019, and that day all seemed well with baby in room with mother.
Baby did not want to drink and pediatrician started to check a few things including blood tests to
make sure all was fine. This is when they discovered baby had contracted septicemia in theater.
They immediately transferred baby to intensive care unit and
started with antibiotics to fight the septicemia.
After two days the infection count showed that baby was
getting worse. Doctors advised that they are doing all that can be done and
hopefully baby will respond to treatment soon.
Still getting worse when we decided to discuss position with
Graham who after checking with Neil confirmed that we can try Vulcan Silver on
baby. We rushed bottle through to Sandton Mediclinic and gave parents
instruction on how to administer and in what dosage.
This they had to do in ICU without nurses or anybody seeing
what was done. The first dose of only 1ml was given that night. By the next
morning the infection count started to come down and within an amazing two days
the infection was gone. Baby was released from hospital within 3 days of
starting with the Vulcan Silver treatment.
The baby is now about three weeks old. Doing very well.
